No one driving in the middle of the night wants to be pulled over by the police. It can be a confusing and sometimes intimidating experience. Sometimes police pull over a driver for a traffic infraction like speeding or failing to yield. However, sometimes police pull a driver over on suspicion of drunk driving.
A Henrico County School Board member was recently accused of drunk driving in Virginia. The 43-year-old man was pulled over by an officer while heading due west on Interstate 64 at around 1:00 in the morning. After the traffic stop, police placed the man under arrest. The man’s blood alcohol content has not been released by police.
As of right now, the man is vice chairman of the Henrico County School Board. He has also been a pastor at an area church since 2003. He is well-educated, having earned a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree and a doctorate.
It remains to be seen how this arrest will affect the man’s position on the school board. The board chairwoman has stated that once more information about the situation is available, the board will be in a better position to respond. However, when it comes to drunk driving, even if a person is not ultimately convicted, he or she may still find that the accusations have damaged his or her personal and professional reputations.
